Shelly will Have Surgery Today
They are moving forward with Shelly's surgery today at 3:00pm. They will repair the left femur and clean up the ankle but probably NOT do the the knee replacement. Sounds like that would be too long under anesthesia and a higher risk of infection. It is safer to have two surgeries than to try to cram too much into one. Please pray for her today.

Please pass along our love and prayers to Shelly today along with to all of you! Thank you for creating this blog to keep everyone informed. We are praying that surgery goes well today and that Bruce will be able to transfeer here soon also. If he needs a good Nephrologist (kidney spec) I can recommend Dr. Richard Oconnor whose # is 616-774-8200. He will accept new patients and works out of St Mary's.
I also know and answer for most of the Dr.s in town, so whatever other specialists you need in Grand Rapids area, feel free to contact me via email or phone and I will recommend one who is taking new patients.

Hi Shelly, hi Bruce. Thank God you're both alive. I'm so sorry to hear all your bad news. Everyone that knows you was in shock. Such nice people to be tested so severely. Keep your faith and The Lord will get you through all this. We're still hoping to see you before too long. If you need anything that I can do here, say the word.
